Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we've got my 2013 Ram 2500 and we're gonna be taking a look at, and I'm gonna show you how to install the Front Runner Slimline II Bed Rack. Front Runner makes a lot of racks that will mount to the top of your vehicle that you can see up here on top of my truck. A lot of people don't like to permanently mount their racks to the roof because they just use it during the summer or for a few trips a year. That's when this bed rack's gonna come in handy is you can mount the rails to the side rails of your truck and then if you take the bolts out you can slide this rack off and it's as if it was never there. The benefit of having this type of rack over top of your bed is so that if you ever run out of space when you're going on a long extended camping trip or if you like to go overlanding, you can load your bed up with stuff pretty quickly. more

And today we'll be taking a close look at some of the features of the Leer's ladder rack that has the ability to be mounted onto the Leer's Tahoe cover on the back of our 2022 Ram 1500. This is gonna be a really nice option for you if you plan on hauling a lot of deer in the back of your truck. It's really gonna open up a lot of space because whether if you wanna put any accessories on top of here, anything like ski carriers or snowboard carriers, or if you wanna put a rooftop tent in the back, you're gonna have that option too. Now if you wanna put ladders or anything longer like that, keep in mind when you are putting 'em in here, you're gonna be very limited on space because of how high this ladder rack system sits. It's gonna be a good solution to mount up some accessories over your bed, especially if you don't want it to be super up tall, like a tent or a bike rack where it's easier to reach, while still leaving your bed below accessible. And we're gonna be showing you how to install it on your 2013 RAM 2500. So the big thing you probably notice right away, is it's pretty low profile, from the bedrail to the top of the crossbar here, only adding about eight inches. So this isn't gonna be a ladder rack, it's not gonna be for your elongated loads of two by fours, conduit, ladders, even kayaks I wouldn't put on here because they probably just won't fit. more

If you're really looking for a way to really maximize your truck, but you're not really a fan of those tall, bulky looking ladder racks, these are going to give you pretty much the same exact bars as the Yakima Overland ladder rack, so you can put a bunch of different stuff on here.We can go ahead and actually put kayak carriers on these bars, and there is a load extender that you can put in the hitch, so you can have your kayaks going off the end of the bed of your truck. It's going to be a little bit easier to load them up than if you we're to have a ladder rack or something on top of your roof, and it's super, super easy to install. It doesn't even just stop with the kayaks, we can put a bike rack on here. We can go ahead and put a cargo basket on here. more

So this ladder rack system is going to be a really good and awesome addition to your truck, just because we're going to be able to pretty much double our bed space. This is going to allow us to put a bunch of different attachments or does poal some of those longer loads, maybe without even going over the back end of our truck, we can go ahead and put two by fours, pieces of drywall bunch of pipe, whatever you guys are using. And of course some ladders, we're going to go ahead and throw these up here, put it over top of our calves. What's really going to set this ladder rack apart from all the others is the fact that we can adjust the height when it's installed. So I'm going to lower this just so you guys can see it a little bit better, but we're going to have these knobs. So we're going to twist the knobs.And whenever we go ahead and loosen these up, as you can see, we start to be able to lower this down and they are numbered, which is nice, so we can get it nice and even, we don't really have to guess or anything like that. We should have about 32 different levels of adjustment, which is fantastic. more

Whether it's loading up a ladder like this to get to our job site, or maybe a kayak or a canoe, something that's not going to fit in our bed quite right, or maybe we just need to utilize our entire truck bed for other cargo and something like this will help get some extra cargo up above our bed.Our ladder rack has an 800 pound weight capacity and also has an aluminum construction, so it is nice and sturdy for that weight capacity, but the aluminum construction means we don't have to worry about rust or anything like that. Today on our 2019 Ram 1500 Classic, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Thule Xsporter Pro Adjustable Height Truck Bed Ladder Rack, which is part number TH500XT. This also does come in black under part number TH500XTB.This ladder rack is a great tool to have that'll allow you to haul any longer items above the bed of your pickup, and freeing up space inside the bed for other tools or other items or equipment. It's also going to help prevent you from having to travel with your tailgate down, which we all know that could sometimes be a hassle or could be more of a struggle or more of a risk, I should say.The rack itself has an adjustable height. How you would do that, if you're going to do it by yourself, I would suggest being in the truck bed and in the middle. What you would do is you would come and loosen both of these hand knobs right here. Once you get both sides, you can adjust it to whatever height you desire, whether you want it lower, like more towards the height of your cab, or if you want it a lot higher than your cab, you can do that as well. more

Thule Ladder Racks Review - 2019 Ram 1500 Classic TH27000XTB- Video

Today we have a 2019 Ram 1500 Classic. We're going to be taking a look at the Thule TracRac TracONE Truck Bed Ladder Rack, which is part number TH27000XTB. This ladder rack is a great accessory to have so that you can haul longer items about your truck bed and a bit over the cab of your truck, freeing up the space inside your bed for other tools and equipment or whatever else you might want to put back there.Now, as far as temporary ladder racks go, meaning that we can remove this pretty easily whenever we want because of the clamp system, it has a 800 pound weight capacity which is very high for temporary ladder racks. Most of the time you're going to have a lower weight capacity to get up there. To get up to that weight capacity you're going to need one of the permanent ones that has more support.I'm going to go ahead and climb up so I can show you a little bit more about this. Now, it has a nice matte black powder coat finish which is going to be resistant to rust and corrosion. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Ram 1500 we'll be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Yakima Bedrock Truck Bed Cargo Rack, part number Y01140-78.The Yakima Bedrock Rack System is going to allow us to carry bikes, kayak carriers, skis and snowboards, or cargo boxes above the level of our truck bed, allowing us to carry more cargo or gear inside our bed. Unlike other truck bed accessories, these are going to allow us to carry even more gear and a different variety of gear. The clamps are going to give us a nice, secure fit so we don't have to worry about anything coming loose.On our clamps we're going to have locks, which will help to prevent theft and tampering of our entire cargo system. You can see these are a nice aerodynamic shape, they're going to allow you to carry any accessories on your truck bed and still give you access to your truck bed area to carry more gear. Today on this 2016 RAM 1500, we're going to be test fitting the ROLA Haul Your Might truck bed ladder rack, part number 59742. This is made out of a nice, sturdy aluminum and it has an aerodynamic shape on both bars that will cut down your wind noise and drag, and you can carry anything from ladders to lumber and even water sport carriers. Another neat feature about this, the end caps are lockable. It comes with a key. You unlock it like so, and it has a T slot where you can put several items like tie down points, anchor points, or other accessories while you're traveling. Today in this 2016 Ram 1500, we're going to be test fitting the Inno truck bed cargo rack, part number INRT101-79. It's comprised of this clamp here as well as the 79 inch crossbar. Erickson Ladder Racks Review - 2016 Ram 1500- Video

Today this 2016 Ram 1500, we're going to be test fitting the Erickson truck bed ladder rack with load stops, part number EN07705. This has a weight capacity of 800 lbs. and is good for hauling anything from your ladders, to lumber, to conduit pipe, whatever you can think of. Now, it's made from a good solid aluminum construction. The cross bars up top are actually kind of nice and aerodynamically shaped so it will cut down on wind noise and drag. It comes with tie downs on both bars, which you can move by loosening the knobs at the bottom, and it's actually slides along this T-track underneath. It's the same concept if you need to adjust for different truck bed widths with these 2 knobs here, and of course these are going to be at all of the feet of the ladder rack. more

TracRac TracONE Ladder Racks Review - 2016 Ram 1500- Video

Today on this 2016 Ram 1500, we're going to be test fitting the Track Rack Track one, truck bed ladder rack. Part number TA272000-01. This ladder rack is made from a nice sturdy aluminium and can be adjusted to fit varying truck bed widths by loosening up these 2 bolts here and here. That will need a 7/32 hex head bit to do so. You can carry anything from ladders, to lumber, to even water sports carriers. You tie them down using these tie down points here, which can slide up and down this track rack, and the bars themselves are actually aerodynamic, so it will cut down wind noise and drag while you're driving. Now, to attach this to your truck bed it uses a clamp system, which you'll have 2 clamps per each side. more

TracRac TracONE Ladder Racks Review - 2011 Ram 3500- Video

Today on this 2011 Dodge Ram 3500, we're going to be test-fitting the TracRac TracONE Truck Bed Ladder Rack, part number TA27000-01. This ladder rack has an 800 pound weight capacity and can carry anything from ladders to lumber to even kayaks if necessary. It has a nice aerodynamic bar design which cuts down wind noise and drag and it has a channel system on top where they included tie down points here. Can slide back and forth and tighten down to tie down your loads. It's also adjustable for varying truck bed widths by this bolt here and one on the other side and there's one on the other foot as well. To loosen those up and push them in and out as you need. more

Today on this 2016 Ram 1500, we're going to be test-fitting the Thule Xsporter Pro Adjustable Height Ladder Rack, part number TH500XT. This has a weight capacity of 450 pounds and you can haul anything from ladders to lumber to even water-sport carriers. It's constructed of a nice, sturdy aluminum. It has a nice, aerodynamic shape, which will cut down on wind noise and drag and you can actually adjust it for varying truck-bed widths by loosening up these two bolts at the top here, which are going to be at all four locations. Now, to loosen these up, you're going to need a 7/32nds hex head bit. Now, the way these clamp onto the vehicle, you're going to have two clamps per side and again, you'll need a 7/32nds hex head bit to tighten those down. more

Thule Ladder Racks Review - 2011 Ram 3500- Video

Today on our 2011 Dodge Ram 3500, we're going to be test-fitting the Thule Xsporter Pro adjustable-height truck bed ladder rack, part number TH500XT. This has a weight capacity of 450 pounds, which means you can carry your ladders, lumber, or even your kayaks if necessary. It has a nice, sleek, aerodynamic design with the bars, which cuts down wind noise and drag, as well as it has a t-slot here where these tie-downs can move back and forth to help tie down your loads. It has a rubber strip on the top as well to also cut down noise as well as keep out any dirt and grime in the t-track to make it harder to slide these back and forth. This is adjustable for varying truck bed widths by loosening up these bolts here and on the other side, and pushing it in or taking it out to whatever you need. It clamps onto your truck bed rails by two clamps that you can see here. There's going to be two per foot. more

Today on this 2015 Ram 1500, we're going to show you the Max Tow truck bed ladder rack, part number MT70423. This is what the ladder rack looks like on a Ram truck. All right, let's go ahead and take a look at construction. First off, aside from the plastic caps on top, this is all aluminum construction, so it doesn't add too much weight to your vehicle and it is very easy to install. Okay, you know the shape of the ladder rack, it has an elliptical design, so it helps cut down on wind noise going down the road. All right, let's get a couple of quick measurements. From the bed rail to the top of the latter rack is going to be about 26 inches. more

Thule Ladder Racks Review - 2015 Ram 1500- Video

Today on our 2015 RAM 1500 Quad Cab we're going to be installing the Thule Xsporter Adjustable-Height Truck Bed Ladder Rack and that is part number TH500XT. We already have our ladder rack pretty much fully installed on our truck but we wanted to show you the last clamp before it goes on. We've got all the parts laid out here. It's going to come with four of these rubber pads that will go underneath the feet of the rack, one for each foot. It's also going to come with eight of these clamps, two for each foot but each side is going to have one with this extra bracket and this is for the lock which you'll put each side, one for each bar. That lock, which is this piece here is just going to slide over the top there, secures with this key which is included and that's going to cover this Allen bolt so no one can take that off and leave with all your stuff. It's also going to come with eight of these little flanges that will go over the bolt to disperse that pressure as this gets tightened down so it doesn't cause any damage to your bed lining or your truck itself. It's just going to disperse that weight a little more evenly. With that it's also going to come with these two Allen bolts, this larger one is going to fit the bolt for the clamps as well as we come over here to the actual rack. more

TracRac TracONE Ladder Racks Review - 2015 Ram 1500- Video

Today on our 2015 Ram 1500, we're going to be doing a test fit of the TracRac TracONE Bed Mounted Ladder Rack System, it'll be part number TA2700-01. As you can see, we got it laid out here on the table and we already have one installed so you can see what it looks like in the bed of the truck. We're going to go about putting it altogether and installing it on the truck and I'll go through the parts. For each rack, you're going to have two rubber strips that are going to go underneath of the ends against your bed rail in case if you have a naked bed rack or bed rail and you don't have any caps or a bed liner. That way it protects your paint. Then, you're going to have your clamps, your C-clamps that will go over the ends, and if you look down here, I'll show you just how they go on. You'll have a flat piece here and then you'll have your C-clamp, normal style, but you'll have to set it above three threads up, place it over the bed rail before the rack, place the end on, and then slide it under the bed rail and where it meets up. I think it'll thread it in. You'll have two clamps for each side and then also I'll go over how to adjust it. more

Rola Ladder Racks Review - 2015 Ram 1500- Video

Today on our 2015 Ram 1500, we'll be doing a test fit of the Rola Pick-Up Bed Ladder Rack System. This is going to be part number 59742. I'm going to show you how to put it together and get that last one on here. As you can see up here on the ladder rack, we've already fit it to the bed width. Simply to do that, all you'll need to do is loosen up these and make sure you take off the end cap with your key. Then you'll be able to adjust it from side to side to fit whatever bed width you have. You can see the front one's already on here. more

TracRac SR Sliding Truck Bed Ladder Rack Installation - 2012 Ram 3500- Video

Today on this 2012 Ram 3500 crew cab, we're going to install part number TA21000-03-02. This is the TracRac SR sliding truck bed ladder rack with the over the cab extension. First thing we need to do is go ahead and get the base rail ready for the truck. We already have our passenger's side installed and this is our rail right here. There's a wedge that goes underneath it to keep the rail level and then there's additional hardware inside the stake pocket of the bed that we'll show you on our second rail. The wedge is located between the top of the bed and our rail right here. more

Rola Pick Up Ladder Rack Installation - 2014 Ram 1500- Video

Today on our 2014 Ram 1500, we're going to be test fitting the Rolla Bed Mounted Ladder Rack System. This offers a 400 pound weight capacity. It's part number is 59742. To begin our test fit, we've already got the front half of the rack installed, so we'll show you how to do the rear half. We'll essentially place the ladder rack here under the bed rails of our vehicle. We need to find a fixed point on both sides to use, that way we're sure we have the bases of our rack in line with one another. This is a nice rubber coated piece of angle that's going to fit over your bed rail nicely and that rubber is going to protect it from any scratches or dents. more

A really great feature of the Xsporter II is the adjustable height. Inside here it says 29, 28, 27, all the way down to 01. These are designed so you can get each side even with each other. To adjust it we're going to loosen the black knob. more
